Introduction

Welcome to Magic-Missile.com, this site endeavors to provide everything needed for Players and Dungeon Masters to play traditional Tabletop RPG's online.

Currently there are three Dungeons & Dragons campaigns running via our gaming forum. If you're interested in running another game, whatever the game system, please email me or better yet just jump on the forum and post your intent.

Maybe you're just interested in playing a Roleplaying game? Great, just jump on the forum and post your interest, there's probably a new game starting up soon that you can be apart of.

About the forum

We're using phpBB3 as our forum software. I've been working on improving the forum and making it more friendly to RPG playing. I've added the ability for players to roll their dice in a post (by using BBCode) and also a separate "app" for DMs to roll their dice. Currently I'm working on a way for players (and in future DMs) to create and store their character sheets (ATM they're D&D3.5) directly in the forum, attached to their account. These character sheets will have single click buttons for DMs to roll skill checks and saves, and will hopefully be intergrated into the forum posts to allow players to type something like [skillcheck=Appraise][/skillcheck] to include dice rolls into posts.

This is of course bound to change, depending on what the users of the forums want. The last things to be implemented are things like random treasure / npc / encounter generators, as there's an abundance of them on the internet already.

Who is Playing?

In general we're people who maybe don't have the time to sit for a few hours every week / month to play games. Some of us have families, some of us work too damn much. The biggest benefit of playing via forums is being able to post and come back later, the game is always happening whenever you jump on.

Quite a few people already playing, including myself, find "roleplaying" in front of a group of people to be a bit of a daunting prospect. When writing on a forum though, there's no issue of embaressment! This is really bringing the roleplaying in our games to life.

In closing

Jump on the forum, and have fun playing.
